      • Hello, Larry!

I am seeking just someone to exchange thoughts with. I am a widow with two grown daughters and one extraordinary granddaughter. I have had many life experiences and wish nothing more than to exchange ideas, stories, opinions with someone who actually believes that writing is a good way to communicate. I do not text. I hate my cell phone and, unless I am traveling, it is turned off. I am 69 years old, but still maintain my own home. I love to cook so my neighbors get lots of goodies. I love books, movies, music (well, most music). I am a pianist and a vocalist. But all I really want is someone to share life experiences with. I do not search for romance. I search for friendship. If this appeals to you…please write.

I am Cherry also, just find for a email friend. Would you like a Taiwanese email friend?

        • Hello George,

Life is always starting! When you wake up and realize you’re alive you have a chance to live your life well. Maybe you cannot be a dancer anymore, maybe you never had talent to sing (I wish I had), to paint, to act, to play the piano but there is always something nice you can do.
          Best regards,
          Jane

        • Hi ,
I just got your name off of a pen pal sight and thought that I would drop you a quick line to say hello.

I lost my husband of 23 yrs 3 years ago to complications of Leukemia – I know all about the loneliness.

        • Saw your email on line . You sound lonely. I guess you have more time to think about those things now that you aren’t so busy. Marriage isn’t for everyone. You can still be lonely even when you are married.

        • I am 63 looking ONLY for a friend. I live in Texas, but grew up in Chattanooga. I like old fashion mail (USPS). Mom got her angel wings a few years ago. I miss her, her letters and talking with her on the phone.

          • Hi, Nancy. I dunno if you ever want a friend from anywhere across the world. A friend who never gets old cos the age can’t damage my look. I wanted a friend I just can open my heart to. I don’t think life is that hard cos I live all on my own. But what is hard is find somebody that you can trust till the end. I have no-one of my own to live with. Nothing lasts forever. Nor do we. Why not give it a shake until it goes? Looking forward to hearing from you if it’s not too much to expect.

Unfortunately, surgery for prostate cancer, a man is left with incontinence and erectile disfunction. I did not want either so I went through 42 days of radiation treatment. It seems to have worked to shut down the cancer. I can hold my urine and although I have no reason to be worried about ED, everything still works as it should.

Okay, info about me: white, 5’8″ tall, balding, a belly, not God’s gift to women! Age 77, well informed, well educated, and well traveled. I am a semi-retired business writer. I do newsletters, magazines, brochures, advertising, press releases…anything people will pay me to write.

I seek email about ANY subject. I am open and honest and will never write one-line messages.

      Write back please.

      • Hello Paul. I hope I am not too late to write to you. I live in New Mexico, a semi retired professional senior woman who is still pretty healthy and very active for 79. • Hi Francis . loved reading your thoughts. I am pure male but i think we can chat away about all things under the sun (and rain). I am in a great relationship so i am not seeking anything romantic or whatever. Wanting a penpal/chatmate/online friend. Hope we can give it a try. I am British (England), turned 70 last month and in reasonably good health. I have resided in 10 countries since birth.

    • Hello Diana

Congratulations for surviving cancer three times. But what can I say about your husband – one marries for better or for worse – or so I thought. I really feel for you on that score.
Have you anyone who cares, anyone who will help you? I’d help you without question. Easy to say I know, but I feel so deeply for you. I’ve been through a similar experience, but that’s another story. You’re the one who matters now.
I’ve never written to anyone before; a pen pal I mean. It seems kind of strange, unnatural. Like walking into the unknown.
By the way, I’m 84, but a very young and very fit 84. And I’ve been to hell and back. And I know you’re a fighter – you’ll make it Diana. I’ll do anything I can to help you through the dark days.
This is just a few lines as an opener. Maybe you will, maybe you won’t reply. But I am very honest, my downfall in life.

      Hope you reply
      Keep well, and keep fighting

      Harry

    • Hi, I live in Indiana too. I will be 69 in just two months. I have been alone for 11 years and would like to make friends.

      • Hello Sylvia:
What a strong woman you are to have survived cancer and open heart surgery. I have type 2 insulin dependent diabetes with plenty of complications but if we cry we’ll never stop.
I have been doing my ancestry and my relatives are all from England and Scotland. I don’t know right now if any are from Manchester but I will check my records.
I understand about loneliness. I suffer from that also but I have a mean cat. Her name is Chloe and she will only let me pet her when she comes to me. What a Diva.
I am 66 years old and live in Huntsville Ontario Canada. A long way away. Thanks to technology for emails eh?
I hope that we can become friends and help each other with our loneliness.
I will say bye for now but please email me soon. Waiting patiently to hear from you. It is May 25, 2017 at 7:45 p.m.

      • Hello Sylvia,I also had open heart surgery 13years ago,I am well and fit now and would love to email you and have nice chats,I live in Shropshire so not too far from you,I have a little Scottie dog who helps me keep fit,I am a widow of 16 years so understand how it is to be on your own.

Gods Blessings and hope all is going well for you. My sayinfg I live b is: I HAVE NEVER MET A STRANGER.

    • Hi Diana:
You must be a very strong woman to have survived cancer 3X. My gosh.
I am a type 2 insulin dependent diabetic but it is nothing compared to you. And as for your ex-husband what kind of person stays with someone through what you went through then walks out. A jellyfish is all I have to say on that one.
I am 66 years old and live in Ontario Canada. I hope that we can correspond and become friends.
I have been divorced twice and have 2 sons who live in Toronto with their father. He never took care of them or changed one diaper but poor dad! You know how some people are.
I get very lonely myself. I live with my cat. Her name is Chloe. She doesn’t like me to pet her unless she wants it then she comes to me but if I go to her she hits me with her paw or tries to bite me. Am I meant to be alone for the rest of my life? I am glad that I found this website and it lead me to you.
I will say bye for now but please write me at esheets@cogeco.ca
Oh! I almost forgot. My name is Eleanor Sheets. Sometimes my mind doesn’t work so well. But good night to you and keep strong.

    • sorry to hear about your cancer. And your husband is a not very nice guy. I would like to write so we both aren’t so lonely anymore. I live alone and am 66 years old. I live in Canada.

    • Hi Diana:
I noticed it has been about 1 1/2 years since you posted on the pen pal site- but wondered how you are doing? I am 63, and currently having some physical issues, and found it amazing how many friends disappear when you are ill. I can go days without talking to a single soul during the day.
My husband is still working, and to tell you the truth I am happy because he is NOT the most supportive person. Your husband sounds like he is a “scum-bag”.
I live in Ohio, so we are neighbors anyway. Write back, if your still looking for a pen pal.

    • Hi, u can write to me if u want. I am nearly 65 yrs. I live in Australia.

Iam 66 and want penpals, women and men, who enjoy conversations about life experiences, passtimes, genealogy, travel, history, kayaking, hiking, or photography, and also like mutual affirmations. I’m an optimistic person and enjoy others who are optimistic and empathetic. I was in the US Air Force so I can relate to other veterans as well. Would love to hear from people in the US and around the globe.

    • Hello Maura Rose..what a lovely name you have. I enjoy all the things you mentioned in your letter. Right now I am working on understanding Windows 10 which I recently downloaded. I don’t know about this Cortanna person.. she seems lazy. (If you have windows 10 you know her also). Two of my kids were career military. My girl was in the marines for 23 years, retired and is teaching ROTC in highschool. My son was Navy for 23 years and now is a police officer. Military gives young people excellent training. I hope your day was good. sincerely, JoAnn

  7. 75 year old disabled veteran with sense of humor about everything.
Married (Get Me Out Of Here!)
I play the guitar. Well, actually I don’t but I thought it sounded good.
Hobbies: Oil painting, sketching, reading and writing and making balloon animals. Okay the last one is not true. Write me anyway.

    • Well Hello Dennis… yer sense of humor is intact.. yer married and say get me outta here.. now you know thats only occasionally that you want outta there, you need somebody to wash yer dirty socks. I am an ancient woman who lives in Phoenix, Arizona and have a nice hubby, three grown kids and four dogs.. like lots of things, like playing scrabble, walking, reading, movies, sleeping…. and more. Two of our kids were career military and I know lots about the military. Its wonderful training for young people.. mine sure turned out good. My son retired from the navy and is now a police officer and the daughter retired from the USMC and now teaches ROTC in a high school. So I hope yer days are good and you keep that sense of humor…sincerely…JoAnn

    • Hello Dennis,
My name is Yosra. I’m a happily married mother of two amazing kids. If you are looking for a pen friend from the middle east then let me know 🙂
I’m a positive person with a great since of humour ( al least I would like to believe so). I enjoy creative writing and listening to different prospectives in all life matters.
I prefer emails rather than letters as I’m a bit of inpatient person when it comes to waiting for the post man.
      Best wishes,
      Yosra

  8. Truly seeking friends either female or male. I was going to say only female but then I read I think Dennis who says he oil paints and I would have a lot of in common with him. I am married to a person who has lost all interest in like, except TV.. That is no exaggeration. There is very little conversation or kindness or sharing of any type between us which has obviously caused Heartache. But I’m also a cockeyed optimist who does not believe the grass is greener.. I just turned 71, shocked to say the least, but it sure would be nice to have at least email friends or telephone friends to commiserate about life and living, share with each other xcetera. I would love to find a friend who likes to go out to dinner or go to certain types of shows like flower shows or Orchid shows or horse shows or just go exploring. It would be great to find someone who loves to do Plein Air painting or just exportl for that matter. I am definitely not looking for love. Or an affair. I am looking for a compassionate friend I am from the Midwest, college-educated, don’t smoke, don’t drink.,. I love to sing I play some piano and I’m trying to learn guitar. At one time I used to play a lot of bridge. I’m open, let’s communicate! Gini

    • Hello Gini.. My name is JoAnn and I live in Phoenix, Arizona where warmth and sunshine are plentiful. I am a retired nurse and have a hubby and 3 grown kids and 4 little dogs. You are shocked at turning 71, I just turned 79 and it was a sharp pain in the neck but I think next year, if I make it that long, will be an even bigger jolt. When I was a kid I believed that this getting old and dying stuff was for other people and lo and behold, I find it applied to me too… bummer. But I figure that before I was born, back in the days of Bonnie and Clyde, that I had no problems at all. And when I am dead, I don’t figure I will have any problems then either. As for your hubby losing all interest in anything but the t.v… that seems to come around often also. He may be depressed. And being a man he is probably much too stubborn to go to a doctor and get a pill for depression. But when you get right down to it.. your happiness and contentment depends only on yourself.. so you have to do things to make YOU happy and contented. You can’t depend on anybody else for conversation and fun and etc etc etc.. all that relationship stuff is swarming around the young couples, but even then it doesn’t grow to be stable or half of marriages would not fail. If you putter happily around your home, keeping it clean, never expecting one bit of help from yer hubby.. smiling and pleasant..he will soon be wondering what secret you have found that makes YOU feel contented… been there… done that… sincerely, JoAnn

I am glad to hear from you.
At the different years I enjoy different things.

I think about my hobby. I do not know what the real hobby is or just it is the life.
    What hobbies have you?

    At my school years …
    I collected the postage stamps.
I did enjoy playing the soccer, the chess, and the basketball.

With great pleasure I did read and read many different books.
Also I love always and I loved to study well, do well at school,
at the college and now if I do it.
I loved math, physics and English .

There were not good clothes in the Russia when I was in college.
Many people and my dearest mother can and sew on a machine a lot of clothes for family.
Also she did qualify me to be a good sewer on a machine.
I had a hobby to sew many different beautiful headdresses
for my dearest wife and myself and my friends in college.
It was so interesting and enthralling work.
I created the form, the design I sewed it.

Since 1991 till 2001 years my dearest wife and I have the hobby: the dancing.
Usually 2 times a week we went to dance in the dance club for people
    who is over 40 years old. Usually 2 or 3 hours: 7pm – 10pm.

Also we went pick up mushrooms in the woods and on river and sea to the fishing
    and the swimming sometimes.

One day at the wood we met the farmer who had 4 horses and
He gave me 2 horses we did horse ride. Also we helped the farmer.
Once we on these horses helped a man who broke a leg in mount.
We went his from mount to hospital.

These years I enjoy the skiing when snow is and biking in warm days,
the reading and the radio listening and the cooking first of all.

If you have any questions for me, please, feel free to ask me.
I will look forward to hearing from you.

    God Bless you!

I’m a senior citizen, 73, married but separated with two adult sons.
I graduated from Chicago State University where I earn my M.S. degree in Corrections/Criminal Justice.
I taught elementary school for a while, K-8. an experience that I don’t ever care to repeat. I taught for about four years and that was enough for me.

    • Hello there Henry!

I read your post and found it interesting. I am a native of Illinois, residing in Georgia, and recently divorced. I play the piano, writer of books, and I love to take walks and listen to music. I am 69 years young. (and look 50)

  16. I would love to have a penfriend or two – for friendship purposes only – but I am baffled as to what is meant by ‘website’ on your application form. What is required of me? Oh and i might as well ask! do I need to bother with ‘chosen files’ and ‘WP puzzle’?

I’m looking for any seniors who are in need of a friend or just someone to talk to? Im 24, mother of two and would love to talk? Email or hand written notes are both fine by me. Let me know if you want someone to talk to 🙂

  27. Hello!

I’m looking to exchange letters with anyone; seniors, people trying to learn written English, anyone really, that would like someone to correspond with. I am a married man in my early 40s, have two youngsters and live in the northeast of USA. The idea of exchanging actual letters really appeals to me (so tired of just getting bills in the mail!). If you would like to exchange letters I’d love to hear from you! Added bonus of potentially poorly drawn holiday cards/drawings from above mentioned youngsters.

    Have a nice day!
